If you are a high school senior, have already graduated from high school, or earned a GED and have attempted fewer than 14 transferable semester college credits, you should apply as a first-year applicant

Application Process

We're excited that you want to become a Warrior, and we want to make the admission process as smooth as possible for you. Read the information on this page carefully to learn what you need to do before you start your application, when you are ready to apply, and after you have submitted your application.

Before you Apply

Check out our Admissions Standards. Notice that the standards vary for academic degree-seeking applicants and career and technical education degree-seeking applicants and by age. 

All financial aid forms and applications can be accessed through the Financial Aid website. We highly recommend submitting a scholarship application through the scholarship portal. You will also want to submit your FAFSA (FAFSA school code: 001621), which will determine your eligibility for federal and state aid. You should submit all financial aid forms and applications by our March 1st priority deadline for priority consideration.

March 1st is LC State's priority deadline.

To be considered for scholarships (including Idaho merit based and out-of-state) we need to have your application and 7th semester (or 10th trimester) transcript on file by the priority deadline (that's the transcript from the first term of your Senior year of high school).

Submit all financial aid forms (including the FAFSA) and applications by our March 1st priority deadline for priority consideration. 

  • The undergraduate admissions application
  • A nonrefundable fee of $
  • Your SAT and/ or ACT scores
  • Your official high schiil transcript
  • Official transcripts from and dual-credit or college courses
  • Credentials for any education completed outside the U.S.

Homeschooled applicants

Students who graduate from non-accredited secondary schools or home schools are admitted under provisional admission and are required to demonstrate the following:

  1. Transcript:
    • Home school transcript or a description of educational background including subjects studied and date of graduation with a minimum 2.0 cumulative GPA; or
    • Non-accredited high school transcript with a minimum 2.0 cumulative GPA; or
    • GED test results with a standard score of 600 (500 on 2002-2013 test or 50 prior to 2002 test).
  2. Official transcripts from any secondary school attended prior to or in addition to home schooling with at least a 2.0 cumulative GPA.
  3. Official college/university transcripts (when applicable).
  4. Career and Technical applicants: See provisional admission under Career and Technical Degree-Seeking Students section.

It is recommended that academic applicants take the ACT/SAT or ALEKS math placement test and Writing Placement Exam for English/math placement.

When you Apply

There are several steps you’ll take to complete your application for admission. We can’t process your application until we’ve received all your application materials, so be sure to submit everything as soon as possible. If your application is incomplete, it will delay the review process.

The online application takes about 10-15 minutes to complete and is free to submit! You will create a Be a Warrior account to complete the online application. With your Be a Warrior account you will be able to log back in any time to complete the online application, upload admission documents, and check your application status.

If you graduated from high school, ask your high school to send your official transcript to the LC State Admissions Office at admissions@lcsc.edu or 500 8th Avenue Lewiston, ID 83501

If you enrolled in any college courses while in high school, those official transcripts must be submitted as well. 

If you received your GED, official scores need to be sent directly from the GED Testing Service.

Official transcripts must arrive in a sealed envelope or in official electronic format from the issuing institution to be valid. Photocopies of records are not official. 

*You can be tentatively admitted off unofficial or working transcripts. Unofficial transcripts may be sent to admissions@lcsc.edu. Unofficial college transcripts must include your full name, institution, grade points, credits, and grade point average. Working transcripts indicate you are currently enrolled in classes. After your grades and/or degree are posted, you will need to have official transcripts sent to the Admissions Office. Full admission will be granted once we receive all official transcripts. 

Academic Students under 21 years of age: Test scores are not required for admissions purposes, however they are required for class registration and class placement. You can submit an ACT or SAT score or you can submit an ALEKS math placement exam and Writing Placement Exam which are LC State's Placement Exams. Official scores for the SAT (code: 4385) or ACT (code: 009200) are sent directly from the Collegeboard (SAT) or ACT website.

Academic Students over 21 years of age: You are not required to submit test scores for admission. However, it is recommended that you take the LC State Placement Exams for course registration. 

Career and Technical Students: You can submit ACT or SAT scores or you can take the ALEKS math placement exam and Writing Placement Exam which are LC State's Placement Exams

After you Apply

After you submit your application on Be a Warrior make sure you get your application materials to us.

Follow the steps below to complete your application

If you graduated from high school, ask your high school to send your official transcript to the LC State Admissions Office: 500 8th Avenue Lewiston, ID 83501. Transcripts can also be emailed to admissions@lcsc.edu

You can submit test scores by uploading them to "Supplemental Items & Documents" in your Be a Warrior account. Step by step instructions on how to upload test scores and transcripts are in the video below.

When you finish your application, feel free to check your application status.

Once all admission documents are received, you will be notified of your acceptance in one to two weeks. After receiving your acceptance letter, you should check out the admitted student page.

After you're admitted

If you're admitted to LC State, there are a few more steps you'll need to take to become a Warrior.
