1. Attend Warrior Athletic Events
Go to games with your college classmates in the Activity Center, Tennis Center and Harris Field. Students can join the Warrior Zone, the official student fan group of Warrior athletics and support student athletes as they compete. Drive up the grade with some friends, your favorite drink and some snacks to watch the sunrise or sunset over Lewiston from a bird´s-eye view. Check the road conditions before you go!
If you want to go for breakfast, lunch or dinner, the LC Valley offers restaurants, sit-ins and drive-throughs for every taste. Hungry for a good breakfast? Try Waffles n' More! Or split a huge burger at Effie´s Burgers with your friends or try one of the other favorite’s locals like to enjoy. Check out this list of local restaurants.
Enjoy special events including the annual Lip Sync Battle, Crafternoon, Pancakes with the President or go to the Tailgate party. Homecoming takes place each fall and is open to students, staff, faculty, alumni and visitors.
Use your WarriorOne (student ID Card) at various businesses around the valley to access students discounts. Students gain free entrance or discounts at Bryden Canyon Golf Course, Asotin County Aquatics Center, Orchard Lanes and the LC Ice Arena. Ask Campus Recreation for more information or learn more.
Need some outside time? The weather in the valley is great a majority of the year so grab your friends, a towel and your swimsuit and explore some of the beaches that surround the area. Hells Gate State Park (Lewiston, ID) has some great spots to hang out at, and so does Asotin, Washington which is just across the river. For more information see beach info here.
Help your community by contributing some of your time and effort into a volunteer opportunity. The Lewiston-Clarkston valley offers many volunteer opportunities. Some examples include the YWCA, local animal shelters or other community resources for more details.
Treat yourself on a sunny morning with a fun stroll over to the Moscow Farmer's Market or Clarkston Farmer's Market. You may find something you didn’t know you were craving.
With your WarriorOne card LC State students gain free entrance to great shows and events put on by the Warrior Entertainment Board. Some of the most popular shows with students include hypnotist in the Silverthorne Theater and Mr. LC.
Learn about the culture of your international and Native American classmates. Attend and participate in the Native American Friendship Lunch, Panel Discussions, Keynote Talks and most importantly, the Food & Culture Night Potluck on campus. Tuesday night is Open Mic Night at Mystic Café. Show off your talent or enjoy a dinner with live music playing. Check out upcoming events in the valley.
12. Enjoy the Dogwood Festival and Art Under the Elms
Family weekend is when your whole family can come to campus and see where you study. Take a break from studying and show off your college and attend the Dogwood festival. Attendees say that the huckleberry ice-cream sold at the Dogwood festival is a can't miss item.
LC State has had the honor to host the NAIA World Series for the last 26 years. Games are played at Harris Field and bring student athletes and spectators from around the country to watch championship baseball. Don’t miss out on this spectacular event.
Stuck in your dorm or your apartment with loads and loads of homework? Change it up a bit, get some coffee at Hot Shots, Starbucks, The Blue Lantern or any other coffee place of your choice and get that work done.
Ever wondered why the poles in front of Clark and Talkington Hall are supposed to be? Grab your hammock, a cold drink, maybe a book or just your headphones and find out.
Wintertime can seem dreary and cold, but the lights at Locomotive Park will brighten up anyone's evening. Enjoy the free light display from November through January with your friends and family.
There are multiple thrift stores around the valley, and occasionally a good yard sale. If you´re looking for unique clothing inspiration, cheap furniture for your apartment or other great deals, these are the places to visit. Got some clothes you never wear? Go donate them for someone else enjoy.
It doesn't matter if you´re interested in writing for the Pathfinder (campus newspaper), broadcasting your own radio show at the student-run radio station KLCZ 88.9, or learning about special interest groups, LC State has a club for you.
