Women's History Month

Ideas about women’s health have changed throughout history. For this year’s Women’s History Month celebrations on the LCSC campus, the focus will be on examining these changes and what they reveal about women, their place and value in society, and their own perceptions of themselves. With a theme of “Balancing Wellness: Perspectives on Women’s Health in History,” our events will explore the variety of avenues in women’s health, including physical health, emotional health, and social health. We are excited to partner with the Center for Arts & History and the Social Sciences division to bring award-winning filmmaker Karen Day to campus to give our keynote address, “Women’s Health: It’s Your Future, Too,” on Wednesday, March 8, at noon in Sacajawea Hall 115. That night, she will be on hand for a question-and-answer session at the Center for Arts & History following a screening of her documentary, “Voices from the Field” (6 pm at the CAH). The Center for Arts & History will also be hosting an art exhibit, “Unconditional Care,” which explores today’s most pressing health issues for women. By prescribing better representation, listening, and respect, the artists in this exhibit seek unconditional care.
